Onze eerste Friday Five van 2022 is een feit! Natuurlijk doen we dit jaar ook weer mee met dit toffe initatief, mits het onderwerp in ons straatje ligt (en to be fair: we tijd hebben het te schrijven). Vandaag op het programma: vijf ongelezen boeken in mijn boekenkast die ik wil lezen in 2022. Nou heb ik erm, een beetje heel erg veel ongelezen boeken in mijn kast staan… Ik koop nu eenmaal graag boeken. Dus om er vijf uit te zoeken was niet heel lastig. En ja, ik wel deze vijf écht proberen te lezen dit jaar!
Villains duologie – V.E. Schwab
Deze twee boeken staan al een paar jaar ongelezen in mijn kast… schandalig. Maar op de een of andere manier ben ik er nooit voor in de bui om ze te pakken. Laten we daar in 2022 verandering in aanbrengen. Want deze duologie (die nog niet is vertaald) heeft een interessante setting én de schrijfstijl van V.E. Schwab is geweldig. De duologie bestaat uit de boeken Vicious en Vengeful. En ja, dit zijn dus technisch gezien meteen al twee ongelezen boeken.

Ariadne – Jennifer Saint
Dit boek kocht ik vorig jaar, zonder er verder iets over gehoord of gelezen te hebben. Het was een cover + flaptekst buy. Ik hou erg van de Griekse mythologie en dit boek leek me daarom erg interessant. Het boek krijgt gemengde reviews dus ik ben benieuwd wat ik hier van ga vinden.

House of Leaves – Mark Z. Danielewski
Dit boek stond hoog op mijn verlanglijstje vorige feestdagen en ik was dan ook erg blij dat ik House of Leaves van Sinterklaas kreeg. Dit boek is een belevenis en kan je niet even voor gaan zitten. Ik moet dus wel het perfecte moment vinden om hier aan te beginnen, want ik heb het idee dat je dit boek niet ‘even’ leest. Misschien dat dit een goed boek is voor in de zomervakantie.

Any Way The Wind Blows – Rainbow Rowell
Dit is het laatste deel uit de Simon Snow trilogie van Rainbow Rowell. Aan de ene kant wil ik dit boek erg graag lezen omdat ik wil weten hoe het afloopt. Aan de andere kant wil ik het boek niet lezen omdat ik niet wil dat het afgelopen is. Dus daarom ligt dit boek al een tijdje tussen mijn ongelezen boeken. Laten we zorgen dat 2022 daar wat aan doet.

Breathless – Jennifer Niven
Ik heb twee andere boeken (All the Bright Places en Holding Up the Universe) van Jennifer Niven gelezen en die vond ik beide erg fijn. Daarom kocht ik Breathless bijna meteen toen deze uit kwam. Alleen waren de recensies best negatief. Daarom besloot ik om nog even te wachten met deze YA. Uiteindelijk ga ik hem zeker wel lezen, het is nog even afwachten wanneer ik zin heb in een waarschijnlijk tegenvallend boek.
